Every graphic design project is different – that’s what makes it so much fun! But the design process is pretty straightforward, and typically looks like this:
STEP 1: DEFINE THE PROJECT
What would you like me to create for you? We will step out the scope of the project over email or by phone. Once I have all the details, I will forward you a quote*, for consideration.
STEP 2: CLARIFY THE BRIEF
Following acceptance of the quote, we’ll schedule time to chat about how we see the project taking shape – it’s an exciting ideas-sharing exercise, which will help clarify the brief.
If it’s a branding project, I’ll email you a questionnaire to complete. That way, you’ll have time to ponder your business goals, and get it down on paper, without being put on the spot.
STEP 3: CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
After we agree on a timeline, I will retreat to my lovely little studio to work on the concept development. It is like a first draft – and is the starting point for the design.
STEP 4: DESIGN REFINEMENT
This is where I get a bit nervy – what will you think? It is okay, I am not precious. Your feedback is important. This collaborative process allows me to refine the design to get closer to where you want it to be.
STEP 5: FINAL REVIEW + PAYMENT
Yes! You are happy with the design(s) – and all the deliverables are now done. After confirmation from you that the project is signed off, I will forward a final invoice for payment.
